Fellow writers, here’s the June 2020 writing news: I finished the first draft of a novel. I wrote a book! High five to me!

It’s very exciting and I’m proud to have persevered, but there’s work left to do, in order to have a polished, presentable, sale-able novel by the end of July, at the very latest.

I also want to start rough drafting another MG novel, a fantasy one (no surprise here, Fantasy is my favorite genre and the one have been writing in for… ever!). I want it to be a totally fun medieval fantasy novel, with some magic and romance and mystery. Ha, I can’t wait !!

A week of Diary of a Writing Project: The End?

Monday, Day 258

Writing during the summer is harder for me.

I feel restless.

Unfortunately not in the « diving into work and writing 5K words a day » kind of restless.

Restless like being in the house feels uncomfortable.
Restless like just going out for a normal walk around the block is uncomfortable.

Yep, fellow writer, I think you are absolutely right: I need to take some vacation!

Not from the writing. I need a break from the day-to-day.

A week of Diary of a Writing Project: Up’s and Down’s under a perfect blue sky

Monday, Day 251

I enjoy reading the Nancy Drew books.

Well, the first 3 of the famous ghostwritten series. I did my research and found out the first 23 books were worth it. The others, written by other ghostwriter, some are racists, some are simply boring. And I’m not gonna spend a dime finding out which is which.

Of course, if you’re looking for diversity in your reading, better leave those kids novels on the shelves.
