At that point, I really tough of shelving the project, once and for all. After all, it gone through two rounds of rejections already.
Things is, I still want to tell the story. It’s in my heart. It’s a good story. It’s full of hope, full of adventures and wonderful, amazing, fantastic … things!
I know what I have to do with the current middle-grade work in progress.
Re-write everything from chapter 11 to the end, the projected chapter 25.
And I’m stalling.

Revising chapter 10 of the middle-grade writing project is, so far, easier to tackle then the dreaded chapter 8.
In chapter 10, it’s all about accepting to go forward and taking action to tackle the new world and the new situation created by the conflict.
End Act 1. Start Act 2!
In other words, it’s time to have fun!
Although, as I happily went through chapter 10, I started to have some concerns about the overall word count.
Big, huge « stop this revision right now and think darn it » concerns.

Exhausted, late for the day job (yes, one can be late for the day job even if said-one work’s from home), I rushed my tired kiddo and my grouchy-grumpy self out the door.
And ba-da-boum!
