Revising a Novel Before Christmas

Deadline.

For a writer, it sounds either exciting or dreadful, doesn’t it?

This year, I took the leap and hired a very good, trustworthy, no bullshit and hidden-fees freelance editor and a proofreader. As for the grammar corrections, oh well, it falls on me.

This writing adventure will more than probably end in a self-publishing one, so I really need to invest a bit in order to present to readers the best version of the YA paranormal writing project, a novel I’ve been working on for a little more than a year.

A novel with a title (yeah!) that I’m not sure about (dang!).

Said deadline is: January 4th, 2021. That’s tomorrow, or close enough !

The only way I will be able to finish the revision and the corrections in time is if I make a plan and stick to it.

And I need a plan about the day job… and the to-do lists… and the Holidays prep…

If You Could Hang Out in a Novel

November is here. The Holidays are just around the corner.

It means there’s a lot of things to do. I’m the kind of mama who wants to have everything ready to go on December 1st, so I can spend the rest of the month eating the advent chocolate and work on my always awaiting writing projects.

Still, I just wanna pour myself a good mug of tea, read novels and stay in my pj all day (which is kinda of what I always do, but whatever).

After all, I’m behind with my Goodreads challenge, which is to read a new book every week. I’m about 11 books behind.
It just makes sense for me to stop working on the writing projects, stop working on my business blog plan, and read full-time, right?

Rest assure, a never ending list of to-do’s is keeping me from giving in.

Not only do I have less time than ever to read in November, but all I really want to do is re-read some of my favourites novels…

Finding Writing Motivation When You’re an Aspiring Author

I decided to go for it, become an author and write novels to earn a living for a little more than 3 years.

For as long as I can remember (cliché but true!), I dreamed of being a writer. Years went by and I kept dreaming of having my novels published… while writing on weekends… sometimes.

Yeah, no… that’s not how you get a novel published.
