Diary of a writing project. Day 126: early morning, early evening tested writing tips

Right now, I’m in the mood to do nothing at all but writing, talk about writing and read, so I can talk about how other writers write.

It’s about mood.

Right now, I’m in the mood to do nothing at all but writing, talk about writing and read, so I can talk about how other writers write.

I know.

I agree.

I need to get out of my house.

Diary of a writing project. Day 125: Rough times at Chapter 8

I know I need to move on, mainly because it feels like the whole novel as morph into that one chapter that’s giving me so much trouble, when their is so much fun stuff to sink my writing teeth into next.

It’s a 75% re-write, 25% constantly taking notes.

The struggle is real. But comprehensible.

I had to delete four chapters in act 1. They were fun, but for pacing sake, they had to be combined into one chapter and a half. Somehow.

It sounds simple enough – it always does, doesn’t it?

Anyway, it took way more time than I thought it would, and it left me a bit discouraged.
The end result is good, it gets the job done, but I know I’ll have to do one final revision/edit on it AGAIN, and it feels like the never-ending story with that chapter.

Rough times calls for help

The Writing Community online, with the help of Instagram, Twitter and YouTube, is quiet a nice place to hang around.
As long as you avoid with ALL YOUR MIGHT the dramas that is.

While it still a comfort to listen to other authors sharing their struggles, their goals, and their tips, it’s not the same thing as to be able to talk face to face with a fellow writer or critique partner.

I’ve been thinking about starting a writer’s club. But, for various reasons like my literary genre of choice (I write for kids and teens), the writing level I’m at (in twenty years, my writing skills have improved ever so slightly).
I would need to be, like, selective (!?!?!!!!), and the idea alone makes me very uncomfortable.

See, I’ve been there before, in a group of newbie writers. Not only was I not able to learn anything, I felt like I was wasting my time.
The reverse was true. I was a newbie, everyone else were very, very good, and I felt like big huge failure.

Nevertheless, I came up with a name for the writing club. Now, I do wonder what Socials I should use to, maybe, maybe, start an in-real-life writing club.

Fellow writers, I’ll you guyskeep posted. And I bid you good day, and good writing.

Thanks for reading!

Diary of a writing project. Day 124: planning to un-scrambled

A million scrambled things are flying around in my humble brain, blurring everything else.
I can’t afford to live in blurriness.

I need a plan.

A game plan.

A writing plan.

And I need to write down too, on paper, with a pen and all.

Yep, I have to welcome back in my life a physical, tangible, colourable planner.
