Nope, I am not interested to write for an adult audience, in the literary sense of the way, even if I am now 35 to 44 years old. What can I say? I love dragons.

Thinking about writing is one thing. And writing down ideas on a notepad is another thing.
Actually sit down and start writing a novel is a one really big thing!

Diary of a new writing project. Day 28: the writing rush week has come

This week word count goal: 32 500 words
Word count goal so far: 15 435 words

I set an ambitious word count goal for that particular YA-WIP.
Because I want to be able to rough-draft a novel in less than three months.
Because this book genre seems to want to make a come-back, and the time to write it and sell it is NOW!
Because I had this story in mind for a while and it is really, really fun, and I love it.

I knew this week was coming: the week of working late at night in order to get back on track with the YA-WIP.

Diary of a new writing project. Day 26-27: The love interest

I’ll tell you what happened.
There’s a very simple explanation.
Here it is – hold on to your writers hats:

Word count goal this week: 25 000 words
Word count goal so far: 15 435 words

I would love to conclude this week of drafting YA-WIP on a super positive, energetic, happy note.
But I am falling nearly 10 000 words behind schedule… Argh!
