Word count goal this week: 55 000 words AND Word count so far: 40 001 words
Day 68: IKEA stuff
Ah, parents….
My parents gave my kiddo a unrequited gift from IKEA, back in August.
I had to put it together at some point, and that point was today, which is somewhere at the end of November.
Now, putting words together, in all humbleness, I’m pretty good at it. Putting an Ikea thing together… not so much.
Not kidding. For realsies. I swear.
It took me 4 hours to put together an IKEA kitchenette. Four miserable hours, I might add. I put a piece with the wrong one, I spent forever trying to figure out where that was supposed to go. Then, screwing this there, and there, and shitadoodle, not there.
Now, it’s not IKEA’s fault, nor is it the fault of the 32 pages instructions manual.
I’m just, it’s just, aarrgghh!
I had to do some of the daywork during the evening writing session. Ergo, very few words were written today.
Next time though, I’ll leave the IKEA building part to the professionals.
Day 69: Messy day
Word count so far: 40 260 words
Wrong, wrong, WRONG!
Everything went wrong today. Problems with this, that. Fixing the problem with this and that.
Argh ! I can’t get this messy day out of my head.
Ergo: good night, dear writers friends !
Day 70: The cookies thing
Word count so far: 41 002 words
What to do when things that are supposed to happen at 10 happens at 3 pm?
Cookies !
I refuse to let myself behind overwhelmed by stuff again.
Therefore, I made a mental run for it and write!
Maybe because I’ve been doing a lot of little writing sessions, tonight, the words just came so easily. I finished the chapter where the Allies come to help the main character and friends.
The end is close. But there still a TON of work to do!
Nevertheless, I feel energizes, for the first time in a while. I’ll take all the positive moments I can get these days, no matter how little or insignificant, in the grand scheme of things.
Dear writer friends, until next time!
