Diary of a writing project. Day 206: writing routine, I heart you

It’s cold. Cloudy.

What else to do but to eat chocolate and watch a cooking show to write.

Little by little, like the provincial government, wants to de-confine us, I hit another tiny milestone. 67K words!

I had to self-motivate the heck out of myself to do it. But it’s like running. Once you’ve got through the first ten minutes, it gets easier.

Having a well established writing routine helps a ton too.

Stop making excuses and WRITE… Yeah, but

Writing a novel with young kids at home is a challenge for me.

You, mama or papa writer who are also confine at home because of this pandemic problem, without a place to go or a someone to call for help, for the sake of one’s brain, can write 10 K words in a day with kids needing you, or calling for you every half-hour (if you’re lucky)?

You truly have all my « wow »! You have in you a strength I do not possess.

I have two hours in the afternoon, and now, barely an hour in the evening (this mama needs her sleep, Specially while confined to the house with young kiddo and a working-from-home twelve hours a day hubby-to-be).

Sometimes, it’s hard to dedicate all that time to writing.
The story is there, but I just need to look out the window for a while, gather my thoughts and let all the little things fade away a little bit.

Or a very long time, like today. You know how it goes, for sure!

Listen… My kiddo is dreaming. I hope it’s a beautiful dream.

Better go and find my way to the dream world too.

Fellow writers, thank you so, so much for reading. Until next time !
