Already, by the end of January 2020, I started to think it was a bit odd. All the dreams I had and could remember, all of them were in darkness.
No nightmares or anything like that. The usual dreams, full of action, weirdness – in short, full of writing inspiration.
But no sunlight, no bright skies. Just darkness and night time, just gloomy foggy dark blue and dark green lights.
As I am writing this post, the terrible-incredible in many ways year 2020 is coming to an end. It’s dawn. At last, some snow decided to stay.
In last night’s dream, the one I can remember anyway, the light was a dull greenish pale light. A shopping mall had been transformed into a medical clinic (I dearly hope it’s not a premonition). An old man could not close is widely broken jaws. Long strings of saliva hanging from his mouth, and where it touched the tired brown floor tiles, strawberry gummies pop out.
Like I said, it’s gloomy and dark, but very rarely scary.
Here’s my question to myself now: where’s the light?
How to Dream 2021 ?
These days, in the radio shows I like to listen to, in the newspaper I still get on my doorstep everyday Saturday, people get all their hope up for 2021. It will be a better year, because… well, how can it get worst?
Oh well, how can it get worst… where should I start? I do not share the general optimism.
Maybe that explains it. That’s why I had a year of twilight dreams. I can’t see the light. But I’m sure hoping to see it shine through, soon enough too!
Hope is an aspiring writer best friend after all. I do have many hopes for 2021.
Hope One: that the YA paranormal novel will make (many!) readers laugh in 2021.
Hope Two: that the Christmas rom-com will make readers feel cozy-happy.
Hope Three: that I will be able to sell a fun fantasy novel, chapters by chapters, on Patreon… to many, many, many readers eager to escape to a worlds of magic and adventure!!
Welcome, New Year !
This year will bring a bit of change around here. I’m starting a home-based business again. I’m self-publishing my first novel (aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhh). I’m getting a Patreon thing together… in French!!!!
It’s both very exciting and nerve raking.
Dear fellow writers, thank you to have taken some time this year to read my writing ramblings.
As we welcome the New Year, I wish you are safe, I wish you love and health.
I wish you a very Happy New Year 2021.
As always, I wish you all the good words and may your writing projects keep you dreaming all year long.
